Unbricking your Motorola Milestone after a failed Update to Android FroYo

About

Short story: When updating from 2.1 to 2.2, I bricked my phone. I found a way to unbrick it without killing my user data. This article is about how I unbricked it, it will probably work for you, too. But, be warned: I cannot (and will not) give you any guarantee or assume any responsibilty if it does not work for you, kill your userdata, or blow up your phone. You have been warned. ;-)

Why I am worried about Japan’s nuclear reactors.

Notice

This is an answer to an article published in an Australian blog (Update: The article has vanished from that blog, it can still be accessed though via one of the blogs that mirrored it, see also "Update 1" below for information on the mirroring), which is well written (by a Dr. of some sorts working at the MIT), but has risen some questions in me. You really should have read that article before reading my text.

I'm not at the MIT, not even as a student, and certainly don't have a doctor's degree. Thus, everything I write below may be horribly wrong. Please notify me in that case, thanks! (you can reach me via mail+web@tinloaf.de )
Update
Judging from this page at MIT, Dr. Oehmen is a Doctor in the field of business sciences. He has nonetheless written a good article, but perhaps one shouldn't take his writing as "the words of a physicist".

Using Drupal 6 as an OpenID provider

What and Why

OpenID is a great tool. An own OpenID provider is even better (than all those publicly available ones...), since you don't have to put that much trust in anyone else. And since I have my own server anyways, I wanted to set up such a thing.

Unfortunately, I didn't like most of the software. Some I could not convince of running at all, some just seemed bloated. Then wondered if I could not just use the installation of Drupal 6 (which I had anyways - guess what you're looking at at the moment) for that. And I could! It's not that hard, actually:
